1) Acceptance of Terms

Although we may attempt to notify you when major changes are made to these Terms of Service, you should periodically review the most up-to-date version MH may, in its sole discretion, modify or revise these Terms of Service and policies at any time, and you agree to be bound by such modifications or revisions. Nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to confer any third-party rights or benefits.

2) Enquiries and Bookings

Enquiries can be made to Msengoni Homestays via the contacts that have been given.

Msengoni Homestays does not require guests to book in advance although it is advisable as we cannot guarantee that you will get a homestay if you don't make a reservation. It should be noted that each application will be considered on a case by case basis.

Photos of the host family & guests can be exchanged but direct contact will come on the arrival day.

After receiving your enquiry or booking request, we will reply to you within 24 hours.

3) Basic Package Price inclusions

The Package includes the following:

  • Airport pick up and drop off
  • Homestay accommodation
  • Two meals per day for guests (every day)
  • Guest homestay manual
  • SIM Card
  • Support & guidance while at your homestay in Kenya

Msengoni Homestays offers tailor-made packages for individuals.

Package Prices do not include Airline tickets, VISA applications or Travel Insurance. Please refer to Section 4 below, for these requirements.

4) Terms of Payment

Our terms of payment are as follows:

Payment of the placement fee and 25% of homestay rental deposit according to guest proposal agreed upon booking and the balance is to be paid 30 days prior to arrival.

Long-term guests will pay weekly homestay fee upfront while walk-in clients will pay in full upon arrival for their entire stay (less than seven nights)

No money orders, credit cards, or cheques are accepted at this stage.

5) Airline Tickets, VISA and Travel Insurance

All customers must arrange and pay for their own return Airline tickets, VISA, Health and Travel Insurance.

Medical travel insurance that is offered by Msengoni Homestays caters only for medical emergencies which require immediate hospitalisation and treatment in the first 48 hours after emergency. Please contact us for more details on a comprehensive travel insurance package.

6) Cancellation Policy

Cancellations: MUST be in writing.

The following cancellation fees apply:

  • Up to 21 days prior to arrival: 50% due
  • Up to 15 days prior to arrival: 75% due
  • Less than including 14 days: 100% due
Clients are advised to take care of their personal belongings as Msengoni Homestays does not take responsibility of property lost/damaged that has not been handed over to the office for safe keeping.

7) Privacy

All personal information gathered from you in connection with your application to be a host or to be hosted will be governed by MH's Privacy Policy, which may be accessed by clicking You acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy, the terms of which are incorporated herein, and agree that the terms of the Privacy Policy are reasonable. You consent to the use of your personal information in accordance with and for the purposes set forth in the Privacy Policy.

8) Third Party Products & Services

This website may contain advertisements, offers or links to other websites and resources of third parties that we do not control. You acknowledge and agree that Msengoni Homestays is not responsible or liable for the content, products or services available from such sites. Once you follow a link, you should read and understand that site's Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy before disclosing any personal information or purchasing goods and services. Msengoni Homestays does not assume any responsibility in this regard and does not provide any warranty in respect of such third party websites or goods and services provided by such third parties.

9) No-show / delayed arrival / failure to arrive

Since we offer guests the luxury of paying the placement fee and homestay rent upon arrival, this comfort is also extended to us in regards to cancelling your reservation by the end of that day should you fail to show up.

10) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Msengoni Homestays, its owners, employees, agents and other partners, harmless from any loss, liability or claim, including reasonable attorney's fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your use of the MH website.
